From 1995 until 2003, throughout 23 episodes, Tracy Shaw played the role of Maxine Marion Louise Peacock in the British soap opera "Coronation Street". It was the role that made her a famous person in Great Britain probably because she played a popular but in the same time controversial character.
Tracy's character, Maxine Peacock worked as a hairdresser in a salon. She was a good looking young girl that was fully enjoying her life, often having one night stands with several of the male characters that also performed in the soap opera. However, one day Maxine decided to make the big step and married Ashley Peacock, a marriage that seemed happy at the beginning. Soon after, she found out that her husband supposedly had an affair with one of her clients from the salon, but in the end, it proved out that it wasn't true. Because she could not remain pregnant with Ashley, Maxine went out to perform surgery in order to have a baby but she had sex with the doctor and this is how she remained pregnant. Despite finding out about this, Ashley decided to keep the baby and raise it as it was his own, thinking that they could become a happy family. Maxine had a terrible death, being murdered in her own house by Richard Hillman after she was hit with a crowbar in her head.

Tracy Shaw's problems with a stalker

It is something usual to see that famous persons have problems with people that are following them everywhere, reporting and taking photos at all their actions, invading their personal life. However, in most cases, the ones that do these things are paparazzi that work for the big tabloids, revealing secrets of a celebrity so that every regular person can read or see pictures about it.
But Tracy Shaw had a pretty much dangerous experience in which she and other female actors from "Coronation Street" were stalked for more than five years by a man named Kevin Sedgwick. It seems that his actions consisted of lots of love letters sent over the years and one failed attempt of obtaining a kiss from Tracy Shaw. In July 2000, the police put an end to the nightmare Tracy was living by arresting Kevin Sedgwick that was bailed three months later. Tracy Shaw reported that she did not feel safe at all knowing that a person permanently stalked her for more than five years. Definitely, it is not a pleasant feeling to know that something bad can happen to you at any time and that harm can be made by a person that puts passion in doing this and knows almost everything about you.

Tracy Shaw's biography

Tracy Shaw was born on 28 July 1973 in Belper, Derbyshire in the Talbot Hotel that was run by her...

Tracy Shaw was born on 28 July 1973 in Belper, Derbyshire in the Talbot Hotel that was run by her parents at that time. Not many things are known about her childhood years, but as a teenager, she attended courses in Derbyshire at St. Benedict's high school. In 1990, she began studies in Manchester at the Arden School of Theatre where she obtained her degree in theatre studies a couple of years later.
After graduating, she started her career as an actor and appeared in several British soap operas. Definitely, her most important role was the one of Maxine Peacock in the soap opera called "Coronation Street". She appeared in 23 episodes from 1995 until 2003 when the controversial but popular character she played was murdered. Since then, Tracy Shaw featured several British low budget movies without making an outstanding performance in any of them.
Tracy's personal life was quite agitated and includes a marriage with Robert Ashworth that started in 2001 and ended three years later when she became engaged with Ashley Poundall. The couple currently has two sons and seems quite happy. Because she had a lot of problems with anorexia during the years, Tracy put the basis of "The Tracy Shaw Foundation" that is trying to help teenagers battle this problem.
